The Geddings' Square
W Bro. Harvey Bristow Geddings, PM was born March 21, 1920, in Sumter, son of the late Lee and Elluna Pritchard Geddings and passed on October 7, 2003.
He worked for a number of years as a route manager for Canada Dry Bottling Company. He retired from Palmetto State Life Insurance Company as an insurance agent and was a founding member of Southside Baptist Church.
W Bro. Geddings was raised in Hampton Lodge No. 204 on July 26, 1963 and served in various offices, ultimately serving as Worshipful Master in 1969.
In addition, Bro. Geddings was a 32nd Degree Scottish Rite Mason and Past Worthy Patron of the Order of Eastern Star.
Cpl. Geddings was also a military veteran, having served in the US Army during WWII.
To the best of our knowledge, the “Geddings’ Square”, a gold lapel pin of the Worshipful Master’s jewel of office, was worn by him during his time in the East. His wife donated this pin to the Lodge in 2022 and ever since has been bestowed to each Worshipful Master at the time of their installation to be passed down for generations to come.
