Our History
The Omar River Rats of Florence, SC are a unit of Omar Shriners whose headquarters lie in Mt. Pleasant, SC. They were chartered in 2010 under Illustrious Sir Harold "Cotton" Jackson, Past Potentate.
What We Do
As Freemasons and Shriners, we are distinguished by a zest for life and a commitment to philanthropy. Many of our fundraisers help support the Shriners’ Hospitals for Children, a health care system of hospitals in the United States, Canada, and Mexico, established to improve the lives of children up to age 18 who suffer from orthopaedic conditions, burns, spinal cord injuries, and cleft-lip and palate. All services are provided to children in need, regardless of the families’ ability to pay.
